Wake me up when it’s over

Turn the music on, I gotta beat this down
Ma ups, ma downs, my smiles and ma frowns,
Let’s take a lil trip, i’mma gonna ask ya to get a good grip
Coz we’re gonna say hello to pain, and yah you might go insane
My mamma left me when I five, hell no lie
Papa loved me, fed me, dressed me
There ain’t no lullaby to sleep, just enough reasons to weep
Playing catch with meself, papa ‘tot me as he’s a loner himself
No summers smashin’, I stand to watch ma homies do go-kartin
Found a way in ma books, no summer’s day by the brooks
And ohh -I guess ya didn't know, it’s quite a show
I was in ma 6th grade, proud to be in ma school parade
My shirt is grey & messy, ma girlies all tidy & pretty
No mamma to wash..it’s ma fate, damn Mrs. Higgins is quick to hate
The gals all in giggles havin fun, tore me apart the humiliation
Papa was the best man, soon he turn ‘em all into ma fans
I was ten and ya bet, the monster in my closet not scary
Coz Im’ma reality, man next door is ma reason for worry
Papa trust him but he’s full of rust, a pervert with foul stories of lust
6 feet into the ground is now da cannibal, burning in the highest flame of hell
The road gotta a lil rough with coming of age, furthermore gettin’ stuck inside ma cage
Uncles, aunts & friends…I ain’t no what these words rilly meant
Things no turn any betta with adulthood, Imma yearning for a second childhood
No that’s just not alla that story, there‘s lotta more that’s worth ma fury
So unless you was me, don freakin’ try to judge me, it’s funny
With a pride that’s left of ma own, Im’ma fighting with a life that beat me down
and yo ya came along, when Im’ma looking for ma papa who was gone
Kudos ya played me well, ya magic with words that’s how I fell
Ma fault I love a man, who neva stay home, breakin' me down to ma bone
When you was hungry, I fed you a hot meal
Love your pay-back style goddamn lies, that ain’t a fair deal
Ah…your father gave me a scarlet letter, you watched me burn…you ain’t no betta
Give him a holla from me, open up ya mind, don't ya get hooked up to his kind
Pretend like ya only do what ya told, good riddance yeah…I know how far ya bold
You’ve forgotten the rules 1..2…3, go on now roll up a weed in glee
Keep beefin up it don’t matter, alla that liquor take you nowhere
Stop clowning around coz it’s time, try and walk on a straight line
Red pill or blue pill, imma gonna let ya take the call
Blue pill and the story ends, red pill and we enter ma wonderland
Well duh...this seems like forever, brin' it on, wake me up when it’s over…

Love ain't a race!

She’s up all night, she wrestles sleep
Stickin’ needles in her lids, she’s too hard ya know to weep
She reaches her inked out arm, moonlight spills on her ring
The diamond shinin’ perfectly against her bronze skin
Caught in the waves of reluctance, the clock is tickin’, she’s lost count
She’s damned if she do, damned if she don't
Those hateful words turn hands on her neck, she’s chokin’
As they keep ringing in her ears, “Why did ya come?”
She startin’ to wonder if the pain will ever go numb
Easy come, easy go, he gotta style
‘Do it all, have a ball, onto the next’, a motto that he lives by
Sweet talkin’, tippin’ hoes, untyin’ his sneakers
He don’t care, he’s strummin’ her pain with his fingers
He’s not a saint, nor a sinner
Self-made man, still the damn same, won’t take a blame
She not bother, she waits, she’s got the flame
Coz she’s not one of them, them in tank tops n rolled up jeans
Not a big fan of loud music, nor smokin’ hot scenes
No strangers she’s not for a grind, she’s one of a kind
She ain’t a Rihanna, she ain’t unfaithful, she ain’t love his lies
Perhaps a Beyonce, who sees his halo, knows her savin’ grace
Good girls ain’t no fun, bad girls ain't no good,
Good or bad he’s undecided, a man who can’t be moved
He’s a Bob Dylan phoney, he’s not there he’s gone
His words cut her like a knife, ‘Please move on’
Yet she don’t give up, she don’t give up, she keep up the faith
It's hard, it's alright, whoa she’s gotta will that’s tough to shake
She’s playin’ for keeps down her memory, her love’s a masterpiece
Moment of surrender at the meadows, he’s fallin’ on his knees
She’s been lookin’ for a lifeline, seems like a lifetime
She's had her answer, love ain't no race, there ain’t no finish line!

Prince on a milky white steed!

She’s a sucker for fairytales
She believes the books she read by the candlelight
She dreamt of her prince in the smoke of twilight
So strong and steady on a milky-white steed
Without a warner, he appears in a corner
Tattooing his face in her heart
It was a fairy tale love right from the start…

So the story starts, playful at first
Suppressed smiles, meaningful glances
Countless conversations, doubling the chances
Homies tell her that it ain’t easy
Tell her it ain’t fun and it ain’t for everybody
She ignores what ifs, nothings wrong… nothings right
As she’s lost it all in his face so bright
She says she’ll see them later, she’s in a fantasy
She runs to her shooting star, her fleeting ecstasy
Age ain't nothing, but a number
She knows not, he's a taker not a giver

His head so high wouldn’t bend to kiss
She bowed his head and joins her lips to his
He closed his eyes & surrenders to the bliss
Coz they pressed upon his brain as upon his lips
As each day gets better, each day makes her closer
The burning sensation left by his goatee doesn’t matter
She’s stoned as his passionate kisses get sweeter
She’s trapped inside a prison of mirrors
She’s got no clue that sorrow is nearer…

She snaps back to reality
The truth is bitter, but fairytale endings are a rarity
She turns the music down, touches the sound of silence
Remembers them days as the music faded
Brings herself to say it loud and clear, it’s complicated…
Lump in her throat, she looks the other way
As she decides to stay out of harm's way
Man, he’s stabbed her right in her heart
She needs a transplant, for a brand new start…
